With the National Economy in such a horrific slump and so many Americans desperately seeking meaningful work, cheap [or inexpensive] entertainment is the new buzz word lately. Fortunately, our local Abbevillian Community always has numerous options in this all-important regard. Aside from saving a few bucks, you can also: Come out to show your town spirit, Rub elbows with your neighbors, and [even] Support our local town economy. Community involvement is a "Win - Win" Situation for everyone, so get involved!

Events In October
  • AHS Football [1st]: Abbeville verses Ware Shoals.
  • Piedmont Blues And Hash Bash [October 7th - 9th]: BBQ, Hash, and Free Musical Entertainment on the Abbeville Square.
  • AHS Football [8th]: Abbeville verses McCormick.
  • AHS Football [15th]: Abbeville verses Calhoun Falls.
  • Art'Oberfest [October 22nd - 23rd]: The Abbeville Artist Guild's 7th Annual Art Festival will include a German Oktoberfest theme this year. Something will be available, for everyone to enjoy.
  • AHS Football [22nd]: Abbeville verses Ninety Six.
  • "Scare On The Square" Trick Or Treat [October 29th]: This "Trick or Treat" Event - upon our historic square - is for those thirteen and younger and begins at 4:00 pm.
  • Flicks On The Bricks - "Monsters Inc" [October 29th]: The last of the Flicks On The Bricks events of this season, it will begin 15 minutes after sunset.
  • AHS Football [29th]: Abbeville verses Dixie.
  • Abbeville Opera House Presents [Oct. 30th - Nov. 13th]: "Once Upon A Mattress." Based loosely upon the story of "The Princess And The Pea," it is expected to be quite a hilarious hit.

  • Old South Thanksgiving And Harvest Festival [November 19th - 20th]: With Confederate re-enactors, carriage rides, period music, craftsmen, and a formal ball - this event is always a hit with the local history buffs. Remember, however, the kids will enjoy it as well!

Events In December
  •  Abbeville Opera House Presents [Dec. 3rd - 11th]: "A Christmas Carol." A Charles Dickens classic comes to life upon our own Opera House stage.
  • Olde Abbeville Christmas [December 3rd - 4th]: This event features, among other things: The tree lighting ceremony, confederate re-enactors, carriage rides, carrollers, and more....
  • Abbeville Christmas Parade [December 4th]: The last town event of 2010, be sure and take the time to participate!
